Extreme Weather Predicted for Spain

THE ELTIEMPO weather site has issued a warning stating this week, Spain will experience severe storms and extreme temperatures, soaring above 40 °C.
Many areas have been placed on high alert for strong storms with heavy hail falling in mountainous areas and high temperatures in the south possibly causing some spectacular thunderstorms.
Following on from high temperatures last weekend -- where 44.5 °C was recorded on Sunday at the Cordoba airport and in Andalucía many parts exceeding 42 °C, predictions are that as the week progresses the temperatures will reach similar highs by the weekend.
With many regions being dry, residents are being asked to be extra vigilant for fires and to ensure that they stay out of the sun as much as possible, drinking plenty of water.
