The producer Felix Ramos from Ramos Comunicaciones has travelled to the desert with the presenter José Manuel Parada during April 2018, an adventure that many want to experience. With the help of the travel agency Maroc Excursions, you can take a trip that takes you to another world.
Large dunes, miles of sand, camels, dream tents and Berber music under the starry sky, are some of the memories left by the desert areas of southern Morocco, an experience that many people want to experience at least once in their life.
To get to know the desert experience in situ, the Ramos Comunicaciones team with its director Félix Ramos and the presenter José Manuel Parada, have placed themselves in the hands of the Maroc Excursions agency that has organized a magical journey of many kilometres to live and translate into a report this experience.
The experience of reaching the desert begins by crossing the Atlas Mountains by car, contemplating landscapes worthy of the great documentaries.
The Atlas, which reaches its main port at about 2,200 meters, changes colour at each curve of the road. In the middle of spring, you can still see the snow that is on top of the mountains, the waterfalls that fall from the melting water, the green plantings on small hillsides and rocky areas of considerable height.
As you go up through the atlas, you will find the small merchants that offer the fossils that they find from the mountains, remembering the time that the whole area was covered with water thousands of years ago.
As you go down to the south, the landscape changes, the green can only be seen on the banks of the small rivers that carry the melted water of the nine, the oasis full of palm trees make the middle of nowhere you can see the small fences with wheat about to give grain, or women washing clothes on the banks of the river. Small villages made of adobe mud, leave a landscape worthy of Hollywood movies.
Speaking of Hollywood, a mandatory stop on the way to the desert is the town of Ait Ben Haddou, the place where mythical films have been recorded, such as Gladiator or the Prince of Persia. From the other side of the river, you can see in the mountain a town that rises with its adobe houses and straw in its mud colour that gives it that characteristic stamp.
Hence, a stroll through the film studios of Ouarzazate, Atlas Studios preserves some sets of films like "Asterix and Obelix Cleopatra mission" or "7 years in Tibet" in addition to many others. In the middle of the desert, there are some great decorations that are worth seeing before continuing down to the desert.
Already in the desert area, the stone becomes sand, and there you reach Zagora, the area that gives the name to that area of the Moroccan desert.
The team of the program "Together with you: Around The World" enjoys a night of tranquillity at the Ksar Tinzouline Hotel, an excellent idea of Maroc Excursions to rest before continuing down the hill to the dune areas.
The desert begins in the town of Mhamid, Ouarzazate, the beautiful hotel Chez le Pacha, next to dunes and palm trees that augur the sandy landscapes. Its large cool pool on the terrace and its cool rooms make it ideal for the hottest time. With them, the producer travels to the camp located in the heart of the dunes.
Another 45 minutes by 4x4 and crossing the dunes, you will arrive at Camp Chagaga, an area of jaimas in the desert but with all the comforts for the traveller.
Tents with excellent beds, their service, shower, mirror, comfortable pillows and everything you need to enjoy comfort. At night, enjoy seeing the stars, without lights that bother, with the silence of not having anyone in kilometres, and around the bonfire hear the music and the songs of the Berbers, is the culmination of a trip that has been worth the sorrow.
Soon you can see on the website of Ramos Comunicaciones this report they have made together with a large team of the producer and the collaboration of Jordi Muñoz of Different Visual.
