The Great Villa Tiberio Restaurant in Marbella17-05-2015
When people come to Marbella, they go to Puerto Banús, the Casco Antiguo and the Fishermen's Port, they visit the white villages, Sierra Nevada and Ronda. What they never miss is Villa Tiberio and its world famous setting.
From the time our parking attendant greets you, to you walking through perfumed pergolas leading to the entrance of our internationally renowned restaurant, we want you to savour the sensations that dining at Villa Tiberio bring. Owned and run by fabled restaurateur, Sandro Morelli (ex Ritz and Cavendish Hotels in London, and the former owner of Fulham Road's legendary Barbarella 1 and 11 restaurants), Villa Tiberio is not just a fabulous eatery, it is a meeting place. Royalty, diplomats, and international celebrities could just as easily be dining at the next table as holidaymakers or local residents.
Photographs of Sean Connery, Bill Wyman, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Shirley Bassey and a host of leading personalities line the walls of the luxurious interior, reminding guests that, like many things in life, the restaurant business is built on personal relationships. For over 18 years, Sandro and the dedicated team at this legendary Marbella eatery have ensured diners come back -- time and again -- to enjoy a perfect meal in exquisite surroundings. Client satisfaction is as high on our list of priorities as the extensive menu Italian and international dishes made from the finest fresh ingredients and the extensive bodega with Spanish, French and Italian wines, champagnes and spirits to suit all tastes.
Villa Tiberio Restaurant -- Marbella heaven comes in 6,000 square metres of formal Italian gardens with marble statues, cascading waterfalls and softly lit lovers' walkways, then without any doubt, this is it. Surrounded by trees, lush palms and semi-tropical vegetation, the grounds at the internationally known restaurant are a blaze of colour, with magenta bougainvillea creeping over pergolas, red roses clustered on bushes and lilac blossom in full bloom on centuries' old trees. Unusual cacti nestle in flowerbeds alongside petunia and geraniums. Large, ripe lemons hang from trees near the entrance. Endless varieties of large and small palms sway softly in the breeze. Shrubs teased into organic shapes round the pool are juxtaposed between classical statuary and Moroccan lanterns.
On one side of the pool, water tinkles out of an enormous clay jar into azure water. On the other, a Great Exhibition vase casts a shadow across a temple d'amour.
Opened in 1989, Villa Tiberio's location, just a whisker away from The Marbella Club Hotel, is ideal. Surrounded by tall trees, the villa set in sumptuous grounds could never be overlooked or dominated by high-rise buildings. Symbolising the best of Italian and Mediterranean hospitality, Villa Tiberio has an added extra. The unique Morelli touch, which guarantees dining in the coast's most beautiful gardens will be the highlight of any trip to Marbella. And we are told our food is superb!
