Food Review by Xusan Teo Vol.17: iThaila restaurant09-01-2013
Opened just a few months ago, ITHAILA, a friendly and quality restaurant in Marbella where you can find both Italian and Thai cuisines, is now running successfully by beautiful Unchalee and her charming partner Massimo.
Together with Annika Urm, Tene Sommer, Alia Babapulle and I, we were welcomed by the beautiful couple Unchalee and Massimo, followed by glasses of delicious Strawberry Daiquiri, that was a good start of our evening!
With the extensive East and West menus, we were treated with assorted mouth watering dishes and a bottle of nice fruity dry white wine. We started with Thai mixed starters, Phor Phia Gai (chicken spring rolls), Steak Tartar and mini Hamburgers with Duck, followed by Tagliatelle Frutti di Mare, Duck Kapraw, Massaman Beef and Pineapple fried rice.
All the dishes were delicious and full of flavour, due to all the different herbs and spices of the orient. All were cooked fresh and well presented. The delicate mixed of spices was just right, and the contrast between sweet, sour and spicy was also very well balanced.
For dessert, we were pampered with rich chocolate cake and the traditional mango and sticky rice with coconut milk.
The service was excellent, food was superb and the company was great, it will be a restaurant that we will definitely be visiting soon again.
