The British Royal Family attends Christmas church service for the first time
First time this year Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge joined the Middleton family and Pippa Middleton's fiancé James Matthews at St Mark's church in Englefield, Berkshire.

The Dutches Kate carried 19-month-old Charlotte, who was dressed just like her mum in maroon tights and dress under a navy coat, into the church.

William took George by the hand. The little Prince was wearing a long grey coat over shorts and long blue socks. After the service, we could see the little prince George and princess Charlotte clutching traditional candy cane sweets when they emerged from the church service.

For the first time since 1988. her majesty Queen Elizabeth II didn't attend the service at the Church of St Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham. The Queen stayed inside at Sandringham House.

In a brief statement this morning, a palace spokesman said: “Her Majesty the Queen will not attend church at Sandringham this morning.
“The Queen continues to recover from a heavy cold and will stay indoors to assist with her recovery. Her Majesty will participate in the Royal Family Christmas celebrations during the day.”
