Kate leaves Wills at home for NY job

Any plans Prince William (27 has of popping the question to Kate Middleton will have to be put on hold as she jets off to New York. Kate (27) will leave for the Big Apple in January to train with a top fashion photographer.
The couple are set to spend the traditional Christmas together with the rest of the royal family at Sandringham. But Kate is hoping to make the most of unmarried life by taking up a position with Nikolai von Bismark.
A family friend told the Daily Star: "She feels this is her last chance to carve out some sort of identity for herself before she is swallowed up by the Royal Family."
“Kate knows her choices will be very narrow once she is formally engaged, so she wants to make the most of her time now.”
Meanwhile William will have his hands full with royal trips to Australia and New Zealand. A Palace aide said last night: “He has his training as a helicopterrescue pilot to finish and he realises Kate has her own life to lead. Whatever she decides to do, he’ll support her 100%.”
