Sheikh Mohammed Ashmawy died in Saudi Arabia on Friday 31 May 2019. One of the most brilliant characters in the history and social life of Marbella, Spain where he owned one of his favorite palaces and spent a nice part of his life.
Ashmawy, like his wife Samia, who died a few years ago, and recognized in Marbella for her participation in the NGO Children for Peace events at the Villa Paladierna Palace Hotel and in Incosol. Both were great enthusiasts of this Spanish city and will be remembered with infinite affection.
The sheik is also recognized for the famous parties he presented in the palace "Alferdos", located in Milla de Oro, which attracted personalities from around the world, to the point that the avenue leading to the mansion was baptized with his name: Ashmawy Avenue.
At the time, the inauguration of Ashmawy Avenue was an international event. Where a band of Scottish bagpipers and other bands from different countries participated and a big gala took place with the custody of the local mounted police, while the private planes of the sheikh flew over Marbella escorted by fighters the Moroccan air force.
In short, Ashmawy and Samia helped many people in Marbella and formed an important part of the development of the city as the point of exclusivity and comfort it represents today.

The sheikh was the official distributor of Roll Royce in Saudi Arabia and enjoyed owning in his "stable" the most expensive vehicles, including some arranged in a large ship in San Pedro Alcantara where it was usual to meet the most valuable vehicles.
And even one of them was given as a gift to the city of Marbella.
His yacht "Niveen" was one of the attractions of the tourism that visited Puerto Banús where it remained moored many years, and from where it left easily towards Ibiza, Tangier and Gibraltar to "walk" its most relevant guests.

His sons Ahmed, Niveen, Khaled, Ismail, Youssef, and Youssef have also spent much of their lives in Marbella.
The man passed away this Friday 31 May at the age of 83, and lies buried in Mecca. And undoubtedly, the time of Mohamed Ashmawi marked a before and after in Marbella.
