10 Minutes with Body fitness Athlete Maria Bozinovska
30-09-2013Comments (1)
Maria Bozinovska(34) is a Swedish beauty with Macedonian background who is competing in body fitness. But what does she eat, how much do you really have to train these abs and so much more you can find out from the exclusive interview below!
1. How did you start doing fitness?
In Sweden it is very common for everybody to go to the gym to keep healthy and fit. I loved doing aerobics when I was a teenager and later on I learn more about training and the results you can get from training in a gym with weights and it was exactly what I wanted to achieve. So from there I started to train in a local gym in Sweden and then got the posibility to do a course to be a gym instructor for the same gym. So from there on I was at the gym every day and I am still there after 15 years.
2. How much do you train per week and where do you train?
I train in Plaza Gym in Nueva Andalucia already for 4 years. Normally I train 5 days a week and when preparing for a competition twice per day.
3. What do you eat?
I have never been a big food lover which actually is very good in this sport. My main food is: protein powder, avena(porridge), chicken, integral rice or sweet potato. This is my basic food, on and off season..
4. Why did you decide to start competing?
I have a very organized life, I am very disciplined, like to do diets and love training, I live with a personal trainer who is my partner and a bodybuilder, he helps me with my training, diet etc everyday. I also have friends who are bodybuilders and are giving me advice... so I had everything I needed to prepare for a competition.
5. What is the hardest part with this lifestyle?
The hardest part I would say is the strict diet, and also the training takes a lot of your free time and leaves very little time for socializing. This sport is not only a sport, is a lifestyle and you practice it 24 h per day.
6. Can anybody do it? Where should they start?
Anybody can train but competing is only for the disciplined, with a strong character and loves training and can make the sacrifice needed.
First they should look for a person who can help them with their every day training as to get better we all need a little push otherwise is very difficult. You need to organize your training, how many days you can train and prepare a training routine that fits into your lifestyle. And then of course last but not least the diet. You need to go through your diet and see what needs to be changed.
7. How often are the competitions?
There are many competition over the year. But you have to choose the ones which suits you depending on the location, level ext... My first choise was the provinsional Championship of Malaga as I needed to start from the bottom. which i won, Then I took the risk and went to compete on a national level competition where I was competing with girls who are profesionals and known in Spain and worldwide. On this competition I placed 2nd, And then I did the Championship of Andalucia where I placed 1st! Now I am preparing for my next competition in november which is the Championship of Spain.
8. How do you prepare for them?
To prepare for a competition you need to have trained very hard for long time but the diet pre competition I start 12 weeks before and from there I go gradually cutting down my food. But 4 weeks before I try to eat very very clean: protein, little carbs and lots of water. Final weeks include carb depletion and water depletion both of which are extremely difficult but make your body change drastically.
9. Do you ever eat junk food?
Junk food only once per week! Your body needs this change to keep your metabolism confused and running at its peak performance.
10. What is your favourite place to eat healthy in Marbella?
I love eating at The Studio in Aloha and Small World, they have great and healthy salads and other tasty dishes.
11. What are your plans for this summer?
This summer my plans are to train but also enjoy this few months, go out more and spend more time with my friends and end of August start the diet again.
Maria is also looking for a sponsorship from any nutrition company who would like to sponsor her in the next coming competitions.
