Members of Lion's club from all over Europe have met from March 25 to April 1, 2018, for what was the most compelling golf benefit event of the year in the Mijas sector of Costa del Sol in Spain

Los Lagos & Los Olivos Golf Tracks

Lions from 17 countries came to Spain to celebrate the Lions Golf World Cup & European Championship 2018 hosted by the Lions Club and Tourist Board of Mijas where 72 participants enjoyed in perfect sunny conditions culture events and golf on two of the best golf courses that Europe has to offer “Los Lagos & Los Olivos” both Famous Golf tracks of Andalucia.

The boutique Tamisa Golf Hotel hosted the Lions from all over the world, offering an environment perfect for new friendships to be born while they were attended by the friendly hotel staff. 

The main goal of this tournament was to collect funds for the Lions Clubs International Foundation to eradicate the measles virus which causes blindness in children and can lead to death to its victims.

With the generous support of Mijas Tourist Board, Carl F. Bucherer, Nowinta, Topo Centras, Test & Rent, Kempinski Hotel Bahia, Almenara Golf Resort, Elba Hotel Estepona Group; Da Bruno Restaurant Mijas, Alain Dessy and the support of the Belinda & Bill Gates foundation the event collected over 60.000 USD to be destined to such cause.

The proud winners of the golf events for the three net categories A/B/C and the gross champion of the Lions European Championship 2018 were rewarded with exclusive watches handcrafted by Carl F. Bucherer.

After the tournament, a final gala took place turning the event in an unforgettable golden night thanks to the Bucherer Team (Laurent Lecamp & Jasmin Friedrich) with all the special prizes and the golden decorations that graced the view of more than 100 guests.

With such a nice weather, amazing golf courses, the best entertainment you could ask for and many good friends to spend your time with, the tournament and all its events turned out in a remarkable success.
