Sports Stars Raise €3009 at Sala Group’s Golf Charity Event

Last Saturday 6th April Sala Group’s Golf charity event managed to raise a whopping €3009 to local children’s charity DEBRA Marbella.
“Having such great support from La Sala during the Golf tournaments has been great! We are happy that they helped us raise this great amount for the Butterfly children and thank all of the residents of Marbella for donating to our local worthy charity, we need as much help as we can get!“ - Evanina Morcillo, Charity Director.
DEBRA is a Marbella based Charity that looks after children with a skin condition known as EB. This extremely painful and non-curable disease needs specialist care and they operate a respite home that serves not only the local community but families from all over Europe.
The Sala Group Golf Classic was held at Santa Clara Golf Course on Saturday 6th April. With perfect golfing conditions, over 100 players turned up to take part in the Sala Group Golf Charity Event.
There were prizes for the longest drive for men and women, along with nearest to pin. As well as a Beat the Pro stand set up to raise additional funds for the charity. The 1st place winners, Sierra Park Club, were presented and photographed with the Sala Group Golf Classics trophy, exclusively designed by local renowned artist David Marshall.
International sports stars came forward to show their support to the cause, soccer star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain provided memorabilia for the auction by donating his Arsenal shirt and signed boots, from the Bayern Munich game on April 13th. And the Spanish professional golfer Sergio Garcia donated a signed driver to kick the bidding off.
Players enjoyed a La Sala pack lunch on the day and then were invited back to the restaurant for prize giving and complimentary canapés and drinks. There was also a raffle with spectacular fruit, meat and fish platters, that were up for grabs for everyone at La Sala that Saturday, thanks to La Sala’s local suppliers Eladio and Nortenos.
