Sara Navarro (Elda, Alicante, 1957) belongs to the third generation of a family of industrial and handcrafted footwear specialists based in the city of Elda. She created her own brand name in July 1979, bringing a new spirit of design and fashion to the company.
Sara Navarro finds her inspiration in the abstract, and particularly in literature. Highly creative and with a strong personality, she has made her mark on the major national and international catwalks, working in collaboration with designers such as John Galiano or Martine Sitbon.
The luxurious shoes are no doubt unique, with some prices reaching up to 5,000 EUR a pair!
The brand operates in 40 countries, and since 1985 has been presenting collections at leading national and international footwear events, including Madrid's Modacalzado, Düsseldorf, London Fashion Designer Show, Tokyo, Première Classe Paris, Micam Milan, Midec Paris, and the International Footwear Fair in Hong Kong.
In the course of her career, the designer has received numerous accolades including the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts (2005), the 22nd Gregorio Sánchez Award (2003), the FEDEPE Award for Businesswoman of the year (2001), and a tribute from the Fashion Writers' Association who named her Designer of the Year in 1993.
Sarah World is her latest project. After just two years, the new eco footwear and accessories line has achieved international fame, bringing back traditional Spanish craftsmanship while making a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. The European market, led by countries like France and Italy, is the main export destination for a flourishing brand which has carved out a strong position in online sales. Exports now account for 80% of production.
