Fashion Police: Tene Sommer22-03-2013
Marbella Fashion Police focuses this week on Tene Sommer, who's a singer/editor/events manager, to find out her style choices and preferences!
1. How do you define your style?
Simple, but with a small twist. I love classic cuts and clothes, but I always find my own way to make them more personal, interesting - more Tene! I love to stand out a little bit, instead of wearing what everybody else is..
2. What is your ideal look for daytime? And night time?
For daytime I usually go for a comfortable look - a pair of dark jeans and a jacket, leggings with a t-shirt etc.
Night time I go for my mood and of course keep in mind the dress-code of the event. But I love wearing dresses and skirts and high-heels. When I go out I want to feel good and confident and dressing up is a big part of that.
3. How much time do you spend on creating your looks?
I don't spend too much time on it, usually when I go out I already have a vision in my head what I'm going to wear. But i think many people forget that creating your look is not only about the clothes and accessories - I believe you need the right attitude to carry out whatever you're wearing!
4. Where do you get ideas for your looks? From magazines, movies, videos etc?
I get them mostly from the internet, for example style.com or elle.com and of course from the music videos. They are a big influence! But I don't wear everything that is in fashion at the moment, for example I never got the "dot trend"..
5. What is your favourite piece of clothing in your closet?
My favourite is a long navy blue evening dress by Massimo Dutti.
6. Your favourite shops and brands are..
Zara, Massimo Dutti, Mango are very good shops to find basics of a wardrobe. Of course I love the worldwide known brands like Versace, Christopher Kane, Elie Saab, Gucci, Moschino, Louboutin etc. And I like the vintage shops a lot too! From there you can find cool and unique accessories that will make you different from others.
7. What is your favourite color?
My favourites at the moment are brown, yellow, peach and metallic.
8. What are your favourite accessories?
My favourite accessories are bags and shoes I must say. I love a bit different-looking accessories, they have to have a twist or something special! For example my latest love is PFO, which is a Protective Fashion Object. Basically it is a designer bracelet with GSM and GPS technology! Which means, if I'm in trouble I pull the bracelet and it will send my gps location to 3 of my closest friends! I think it's a brilliant idea! I also love my leopard shoes and a big belt with different toys attached!
9. What advice would you give to have a great style?
The most important thing to remember is to feel comfortable and confident in what you're wearing and always check the mirror before leaving your house. And don't forget that not only clothes is all there is - the one accessory you can play around is your hair - curl them, put them up etc and this will make you a brand new look! Same goes for makeup - that can make miracles!
10. Who is your favourite style icon?
I love Beyonce and her bold style and also Victoria Beckham, because of her iconic pencil skirts and classical dresses! From fictional ones I have to say Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City is my all time favourite stylista!
