Marbella's Gentlemen: Bijan Artafilms19-04-2012
i-Marbella's latest section Marbella's Gentlemen is introducing you movie director Bijan. Read below to find out what kind of women and cars he likes or what Bijan does in his spare time in the sunny Marbella!
1.How would you describe yourself?
It is not easy to talk about oneself but I could describe myself as an impatient innovator and an idealist dreamer! I always felt this sense of urgency in life therefore often impatient to go ahead with everything I believed in and was passionate about. I addition I could say someone compassionate and extremely loyal who values true friendship.
2.What are your hobbies?
Cinema and filmmaking are my main interests as well as script writing besides flying aircrafts, paragliding and windsurfing. Also since couple of years I have developed a passion for cooking! And enjoy experimenting and inventing new recipes.
3.What are your passions in life?
Most of the works I ever got involved with, I did it with lot of passion and stubbornly pursued my goals to the end. That is how I was able to invent and patent some advanced scientific and medical hi-tech systems and win prestigious international awards for that. Having a very inquisitive mind I am constantly in search of new avenues to innovate and improve in artistic and scientific fields but independent cinema and filmmaking are my main passions.
4.Who has influenced you the most in life? And how?
Although I am not a follower and prefer to discover as much as possible by myself, there have been a number of people who have influenced me in different domains. During my teens I was very much influenced by inventive spirit of American inventor Thomas Edison and tried to emulate his incessant quest for innovation. Later in my youth Zarathustra the very first Persian messenger, Buddha and Indian thinker and philosopher Jidu Krishnamurti inspired me greatly. Simplicity, righteousness and harmony of an uncluttered lifestyle seduced me early on in my life and since I have not deviated from that path. Last but not least Ingmar Bergman the great Swedish film director and Stanley Kubrick were my favorite filmmakers who influenced hugely my choice of cinematic style.
5.What qualities do you like in a woman?
Certainly a woman who knows what she really wants in life, is committed and non-materialistic, intelligent and bighearted.
6.What makes a woman sexy?
Radiating feminine charm and girlish authenticity without too much artificiality.
7.What kind of cars do you like?
All train 4x wheel drives are my favorites but I definitely prefer airplanes to fancy cars!
8.What attracts you to Marbella?
Above all its people’s warmth, cosmopolitan and free atmosphere and of course its lovely weather and natural beauty.
9.What is the best way to spend your weekends in Marbella?
Marbella offers many choices: Sea, mountain, sporting and cultural activities… and of course company of great friends sharing inspiring dialogues and gourmet cuisine. A relaxed weekend at home watching good movies and reading good books when the weather is less clement is great too.
10. What are your plans for the summer?
One thing I really don’t like is planning in advance for holidays. I have no special plans for this summer and will take it as it comes!
