A Fun Day with the Kids in Gibraltar with Apes!

If you are on a vacation with your children and they are already bored of the pool and the beach, take them to see the monkeys in Gibraltar! Right now is the perfect time, because the monkeys just had babies!
The Barbary Apes of Gibraltar, Macaca Sylvanus, are actually tail-less monkeys and are an unusual and delightful attraction for anyone visiting Gibraltar or the Costa del Sol. No one is really sure how the only wild apes in Europe arrived in Gibraltar. Seeing the monkeys in Gibraltar may seem a bit intimidating for the young ones at first, but there is nothing to worry about, because there is an instructor next to the animals. This is because of the fact that currently the monkeys are managed by the Gibraltar Ornithological and Natural History Society (GONHS) and veterinarian expertise is provided by the Gibraltar Veterinary Clinic (GVC). The macaques receive a daily supply of fresh water and vegetables, fruit and seeds as supplement to natural food resources (leaves, olives, roots, seeds and flowers). So the instructor will keep on eye on the tourists and the children, making sure everything is safe.
The only thing you should keep in mind is that don't take anything small that the monkeys might steal with you, such as mobile phones, headphones or food that is not meant for the animals. Everything you don't want them to steal, you should leave in the car! But the monkeys itself are very friendly and curious. They may even climb on your shoulder to get a closer look at you! For the kids it's a wonderful day and you can get marvellous shots with these creatures out in the wild!
NB! Keep in mind that Gibraltar is a British overseas territory, so you need your passport to enter it.
