Alessandro Della Morte:Andy Warhol artwork is a dream to own
23-06-2011Comments (2)
From the 20th June until mid September, all the art-lovers can admire and buy works by Andy Warhol in Guarnieri showroom in San Pedro. But behind this exhibition, besides Guarnieri and Coastfield projects, is the art dealer Alessandro Della Morte(32) from Dellart.
1. How did you become involved in the art world?
I have been involved in art since I was born, because I was surrounded by it. My father was a doctor, but a great art lover and a collector. As far as I can remember art for him was the biggest and most important passion. He was a collector of Italian and international modern art, for example artists like Lucio Fontana, Emilio Vedova, Alberto Burri, Fernand Leger, Alexander Calder, Viktor Vasarelly and many more.
2. What does your company Dellart specialise in?
My company is specialises in impressionism and modern art. We trade artists like Monet, Renoir, Picasso, Mirò, Modigliani and Andy Warhol.
After many years of experience gained working in major museums in Italy and Europe, we have applied our historical, critical and scientific knowledge to the study of private collections. Because collecting is an art that requires great expertise. Today Dellart is the curator of some of the most prestigious collections, all over the world. Many of the collections we have created have been the subject of exhibitions and monographs, and today they are a point of reference for scholars of the period concerned. Through our Network of Consultants operating in the most important art market spots worldwide, we are at your side, wherever you are.
3. With who do you work?
Our ideal interlocutor is the collector who is well aware that his own art collection reflects his culture, style and sensibility and - last but not least - his buying power. A person convinced that chance is his worst ally in the realisation of any idea. A person used to developing strategies to achieve his aims. A person convinced that major creations are always the result of a carefully prepared project. We work with art lovers who want to create highly prestigious collections. With companies that want to furnish executive spaces in a manner that befits the image of refinement and power they intend to convey to the public.
4. What do you offer?
As Personal Art Consultants, we are able to work alongside collectors, offering them an across-the-board consultancy service, enabling them to move effortlessly through the treacherous maze of the art market, finally creating a highly prestigious collection. With a series of exclusive services specially designed for private collectors or for businesses, our consultancy work covers all the problem areas involved in a collection of artworks: from finding and acquiring a work to organizing and managing a major collection. We want to be your Personal Art Coaches. We want to train your eyes to see art and understand all its poetry, with intelligence and sensitivity. Even that of the most sophisticated and innovative languages. So that you will never again feel unable to justify an original opinion when looking at a work of art..
5. How many exhibitions have you organised? What do you consider to be the most important?
We organise a lot of different exhibitions, but our business is mainly managing artwork directly. Andy Warhol will be one of the most important one and in future we are already planning something even more with important, with worldwide artists. Monthly I organise Car & Art exhibition in Milan with different young artists. You can get more info on www.Dellart.com.
6. How did you get the opportunity to exhibit Andy Warhol's works?
Me and my partner decided a few months ago talking with Saeko Hamada from Coastfield Projects that Marbella was a great place for doing something like this. And after 3 months, thanks to Saeko Hamada and Coastfield Projects, we offer this show to our present and future clients.
7. Why did you decide to exhibit his works in Marbella instead of Milan?
Thanks to Saeko Hamada, we realised that Marbella is a great place to do this. Firstly because of the different nationalities who live here, Marbella has a lot of foreign residents. Milan is a great city, but I think that in summer, Marbella is one the best places in the world.
8. What makes Andy Warhol's works so special and expensive? How much do you expect to sell?
Andy Warhol created Pop Art. For all art collectors in the world his works, like Picasso's and other important artists, are a dream to own. I expect to sell them all!
9. How do you value a piece of art? What is the criteria?
Value of a piece of art has a lot of criteria. First, how the piece is made - oil on canvas or on paper, sculptures and more. Second is the subject and then the year of making. Many artists have a golden period and some art works, with exactly the same subject same size and same media, but with a difference of 20 year, can value double of the price. Also the certification is one of the most important things. The criteria of evaluation most of the time are crossed with auction result and this in the end gives the final price of an artwork.
10. Are you giving some of the money from the paintings also to charity?
Of course. Always when I sell artwork I always give some part for charity. In this case, we chose to give a direct donation through Rotary Club Marbella. Saeko Hamada is a member of this club and she always helps with all the charity work. That's how we chose it.
11. Do you have a favourite piece from Andy's art?
My favorite one in this exhibition is the fish. I like the media, where it's made on (silk) and the originality of the subject. It's very difficult to find on the market, as most of the artwork we chose to bring here.
If you are interested in buying Andy Warhol's exclusive artworks, there is possibility to arrange a private viewing until mid September at Guarnieri Consecionario in San Pedro. By reservation only!
