One of the Rotary Club's main areas of help is directed to the homeless of Fuengirola and Mijas. Members of the Rotary Club, Mrs. Suvi Kauranen, and Rozita Iles ( Town Councillor of Social Services, Fuengirola) did the shopping and bought food in the company of the President of ADRINTE.
The Rotary Club has been involved with several fundraising schemes.

This is the second "food project" of the Rotary Club this year, in January they prepared aid parcels for the homeless of Fuengirola-Mijas. Among other things, the bags contained basic products, such as different types of food, like canned vegetables/fruit, treats and also underwear, hand-made wool socks, etc.
The Club has been lucky to find soliday dentists and laboratories and has paid for the costs of dental treatment for two homeless people so far. The Covid-19 interrupted the work with the third one, but the dental treatment will be continued as soon as it is possible.
"We would prefer this was not necessary, but we are here to help and will continue to do so while the need is still there," says Suvi Kauranen, next year's president of the Mijas Rotary Club.
The International Rotary Club Mijas meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 2.30 pm until 4.30 pm
Anyone who would like to become involved in this or similar projects are invited to attend one of the meetings that are held in English.
