Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Hotel Marbella is proud to make its facilities available to World Central Kitchen (WCK) the NGO of the renowned chef José Andrés to prepare daily food rations for all those people who due to the pandemic calamity are in a vulnerable situation.
The hotel kitchen centralizes the preparation of menus that will be distributed in the region thanks to the collaboration of different local institutions such as the Food Bank (Banco Alimentar), DYA, and Cáritas.
“As we search for glimmers of hope during this difficult time, World Central Kitchen is a great initiative. We are very grateful to all the chefs, volunteers, and the Anantara brand, who have been involved in this project from the first moment," says Jorge Manzur, General Director of Anantara Villa Padierna.

Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés with a mission to feed people in need during a disaster, World Central Kitchen has already responded to the threat of COVID-19 in more than 20 cities around the world. On March 27th, the WCK began operating In Andrés’ home country of Spain and now has 14 kitchens in 10 cities in operation across the region offering more than 20,000 daily servings.
Chef Aitor Perurena in collaboration with Manolo Navarro, Anantara Villa Padierna’s Executive Chef, is coordinating a team of 120 volunteers from recognized establishments in the area such as El Lago, Boho Club, Besaya Grupo, Grupo Fuerte Hoteles, Finca Cortesin, Hotel Don Carlos and Elba, among others. Within the hotel facilities, they will cook up to a thousand daily servings with ingredients that cover the needs of both adults and children, considering their different nutritional and/or religious requirements. Thus, helping to guarantee a plate of food for those most affected by an unprecedented world crisis, offering more than 20,000 daily rations.

We started with great strength and enthusiasm, demonstrating what the hospitality industry is capable of achieving in situations such as we are currently living!” explains Mr Jorge Manzur.
Additionally, Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Hotel Marbella Costa del Sol Spain has donated food to various charities before being forced to close due to government restrictions.
