An unexpected future
Famed Spanish chef Dani Garcia announced a few days ago the closure of his restaurant in Marbella, one of the most sought after locations by gourmet food fans in Spain and the world. Although many are consternated by this news, most of his colleagues understand and support the change of course that the chef wants to follow in his career.
He does it for his family, mostly at least. Dani García began his career at a very young age and earned his first Michelin star in the city of Ronda before the age of 25. For its part, the Dani García restaurante represents his second and third Michelin stars and has been located in Puente Romano for some years now.
The chef explained that this change of direction is mainly due to wanting to spend more time with his family, especially with his two daughters Laura and Aurora.
He also expressed his desire to raise the mid-range food bringing to the table of millions of people their quality gourmet dishes at a more affordable price. "I want to be able to walk along the promenade of Marbella on a Sunday morning and think that at that time, somewhere in the world, are selling many rations of ajoblanco, espetos, that our cuisine and our culture reach everywhere".
A new beginning
"What awaits us is much more and better than what we have now, trust me" were the words of chef Dani Garcia to his team while explaining that his main idea is to open between 5 and 10 restaurants inside and outside Spain in 2020, also sustaining the idea of staying as a host of the television program "Hacer de comer" which is already emblematic for the Spanish public.
Besides, the opening of a Bibo restaurant in Doha, Spain, and Dani's restaurant within the Four Seasons in Madrid are already underway.
As if that weren't enough, the Dani García group already leads a good part of the Spanish gastronomic market with formulas such as Events DG, Lobito de Mar, and Bibo, which make its culinary brand nationally and internationally emblematic.

A closing between friends
On the night of November 16, the Michelin 3-star restaurant at the Puente Romano Beach Resort and Spa in Marbella closed high, with the presence of a good number of colleagues from this incredible generation of Spanish chefs.
Among Dani Garcia's colleagues who came on stage to chant his name and support him during the event were Joan Roca, Paco Roncero, Francis Paniego, Nacho Manzano, Toño Perez, Angel Leon, and other Michelin chefs from proud Spain that all had more than 40 stars all together.
Thus, with an incredible menu full of his most iconic creations, such as El yogurt de foie, ajoblanco malagueño, gazpacho de cereza, or his famous tomato nitro, Dani García closed a restaurant that will forever mark a page in the history of our beloved Marbella.
Besides, the chef shared with great affection all his experience in this Last Supper in his social networks, mainly his Instagram, @danigarcia7
