Total foreigners (registered residents) on the Costa del Sol: 200.569 (Figures from 2008)
Some figures may give an understanding about the development of Andalucia and the district Malaga: The “Comunidad Andalucia” has a population of 8.285.692 inhabitants (2008). 8,1% = 668.093 residents are foreigners.
In Marbella alone, there are residents from over 130 different nationalities. Since 2002 the foreign population has increased by 48% in total; in 2007 alone the registered foreign population increased by 13.7% (from 29.963 to 34.092). 126.422 are registered in Marbella; but the estimated figure of people living in Marbella is in total approximately 200.000 inhabitants.
Some Conclusions: The Costa del Sol (CDS) is a thoroughly international place, preponderantly English and German. 20 international English schools means: the CDS has big English speaking family community. The Costa del Sol is still a place to make successful business, but only with excellent services. The Costa del Sol offers many possibilities to make friends of all ages and social levels.
