I’m sat in my bed struggling to sleep so I thought I would put down a few words. If there is something that I have to admit to in life, I will hold my hands up and say that I’m a little more than obsessed with fashion.

Hi everyone :) Hope you are all having the best final days of summer ever.

Recently I was lucky enough to go with my 22 year old son Liam Maddison, to a fashion trade show, where he had a stand for his his clothing brand ‘LUCID CLOTHING.’

This is something that he has been working on since he was 18 years old. Although he has a very good job as a webdeveloper he has set all of this up in his spare time. Everything from designing the clothing line to making the website all by himself. As a mum obviously I am very proud of him, as he is still only 22 and is so driven to succeed in life. We have a fab relationship so it is great to go along and support him.

As we arrive at the show I am slightly overwhelmed at the size of the venue and the amount of different clothing lines there male and female.

I had arrived in heaven and I am impatient to wander around and take it all in. After helping Liam set his stand up, we walked around to take a look. Wow it was just amazing, I was in my element.

Everything I saw I wanted to buy, I was like a kid in a candy shop. Dresses, wow so many beautiful dresses. Stunning models floating around showing off these amazing creations to their full potential.

The whole place is buzzing with the sound of deals going down right left and center. The buyers are in their element as they snap up what there is on offer. I have always wanted to sit front row at a fashion show and this was my chance to do actually do it.

As the music starts, the dramatic entry of the models in their ball gowns leaves me a little stunned as they glide onto the catwalk effortlessly. They had obviously practised this many times as they pull off every move with perfection.

I am mesmerized at the beauty of these gowns as you will see in the pictures they were just dazzling.

That afternoon was spent with my son talking to potential buyers that could take his clothing line to the next level.

Three o’clock came and the free bar was open. It was happy hour, how could we refuse. A couple of glasses of wine and then it was off to the welcome party where the buyers and sellers could mingle and do business.

The drinks were on the house and the conversations flowed as the alcohol loosened everyone up.

The music is playing and everyone is enjoying themselves.

My son spots the models all dancing in a group having the best time together and as a handsome single young man this is just too much temptation.

I smile as I watch him edge closer and closer to the girls. Will he make his move or is he going to bottle it? Hahaha

He managed to get close but I had the feeling that the models were not having any of it with any of the men swooning around them. They were just in their element as they teased the drooling on lookers.

I guess my son was going to have to wait to get his model. :( Haha bless him.

Fun was had by all and it was a great start to the three day event.

Day two was a bit more serious as we concentrated on business and doing what we came for. Managing to get a few important contacts we were happy with that. I was so proud of him as I watched do his deals with the buyers. So much hard work had gone into it and now he was about to see it take off.

I had the pleasure of sitting front row on another few catwalks as the days went on and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I also managed to buy a few nice bits as the show closed down on the last day, so all in all it was a great success.

Fashion shows could definitely become an addiction in the future. :)
