Karina Miller Blog 7: Dining Out In London 201821-08-2018
Back in London for a little while, enjoy all this city has to offer. Whilst I am busy during the day engrossed in writing my new book, I also having time to play in London and dine in my favorite restaurants.
Dining out is one of life’s true pleasures. I’m sure you all agree with that. I think you could spend a year dining out every night, trying to get through all the top restaurants in London and still not achieve your goal.

It is literally endless, the choice is so vast. Yes…..there is no doubt about it London is definitely not short of excellent restaurants. The selection is a microcosm of London’s diversity, taking in cuisines from across the globe and embracing both tradition and fusion along the way. How many have you tried?
I have barely skimmed the surface and I’m always up for trying new ones.
Which one will I choose tonight this is the question, I have been asked to pick a restaurant by my date. I never like that really, I would always prefer that a man should know what I want and choose a restaurant accordingly. But hey, women are from Mars, or is it, Venus? Whatever, we are definitely on another planet. Oh if a man could only read a woman's mind how uncomplicated would life be.
My phone dings, it’s a message from my date. ''Hey babe, I’m running late can you please book the restaurant too? Anywhere you want I’m O.K''.
I reply, thinking this guy is losing points by the second! How unattractive is that? This was the first date and I had to choose and book the restaurant, WTF. Hahaha
I mean if we were a couple then sure, “no problem, sweetie, I will book it don’t worry babe, blah blah blah. Lol. :) But a first date? Hmmm, not so sure about that one.
I choose Nobu at the Metropolitan hotel. Wow, which just reminds me, I have some crazy stories from that hotel but we won’t get into that. Hahaha
There are so many new fabulous upmarket restaurants popping up everywhere across London, but Nobu remains outstanding especially Park Lane. The food is amazing which is more than I can say about my date. Hahaha
|So nice to be out in London, Novikov Restaurants and Bar 2018
Nobu is just one of my favorites I have to say that Novikov, Mayfair is right up there at the top of the list too. I think Novikov appeals to me a little more as it has a lounge bar/club downstairs. I have had many beautiful late nights there I can tell you.
One night I remember meeting some random suited and booted businessmen in the Mayfair hotel bar when I was with my friends and we all ended up in there together. Champagne flowing and dancing until the early hours.
These days I’m more than happy to go for a nice dinner and a couple of drinks after, I think I’m getting old. Haha
London is just a fabulous place to be and living on the Thames is sublime.
|When it's so hot in the U.K. that you just want to walk about like this all day 2018
For the next month or so I have decided to stay put and enjoy all it has to offer. The weather is insanely hot and it’s rather weird, to be honest, that London could possibly be hotter than Marbella. What is happening to this world? I’m not complaining though, being in London in this heat is a novelty that we are all lapping up.
|Spending some quality time with my handsome boys Jayden and Aaron 2018
When I’m in London I also get to spend time with my sons. Two of which live in London and the other in Bristol. My boys are my world and really the main reason that I love to spend time here in London. We have a great relationship and they are a joy to be around. (Most of the time anyway) Hahaha

They were all brought up in Portugal and Spain and speak both languages fluently. I, on the other hand, speak neither, even though I do understand a lot. They love to exclude me and speak in a different language when they don’t want me to understand, but they don’t realize that I do. Hahaha
Maybe not all but enough to get the gist of what they are saying. Sometimes I wish I didn’t. Hahaha
As the boys left Marbella one by one to head off to London and Bristol. University and their new careers beckoned to give them new and exciting lives of their own. I, on the other hand, was left with a deafening silence in the house. I think I went a bit nuts at that time as I had also become single, it all seemed to happen at the same time.
After looking after other people for 20 years suddenly I was on my own. No responsibilities, no one to tell me when to be home, no one to cook for. I was back to being a young girl in her twenties, or at least that is what it felt like.
I will tell you all what happened next in my next blog. Stay tuned :)
