Hi everyone,

It’s been a while since I have sat down and had a second to write a blog. So today I thought I would do just that and take you all on a little journey to the Maldives.

The first thing that comes to mind is ‘Heaven on Earth’,

The first thing that comes to mind is ‘Heaven on Earth’, which for me describes its unfathomable beauty.

The Maldives Islands are somewhere I have dreamed of going all my life and finally, I got to experience it with all of my family which could not have been a better way to do it.

On the eve of my trip, I was so excited that I couldn’t sleep. I didn’t care as I knew I would be sleeping on this epic journey.

Seven hours to Qatar and then another six hours I think to the Maldives. When I arrived I then had to take yet another flight on a seaplane for forty minutes. Wow, it is definitely classified as hardcore traveling. Lol

I was wowed as the seaplane takes off and flies over all the atoll’s, I didn’t even know what they were before I saw this wonder of life.

Stepping onto the Jetty there are six staff members to welcome me.

I was completely mesmerized looking out the window of the plane at these beautiful turquoise blue circles in the middle of the deep blue sea. Wow, this planet is amazing.

Passing all the other Island I could see the water villas stretching out into the beautiful turquoise water. My tummy is full of butterflies in anticipation, wondering what my Island will look like.

As I arrive and fly over Kanifushi Island I've wowed again. A long thin Island with the deep blue sea on one side and beautiful turquoise sea on the other. Wow!!! There are going to be a lot of wow’s as I take you to this Island so prepare yourself. Lol

The Welcoming was amazing

Stepping onto the Jetty there are six staff members to welcome me. Two with red and yellow umbrellas with tassels to shade me from the sun and two men beating large tom drums. All in traditional dress, that put a smile on my face from ear to ear. What a nice touch to make you feel special and welcomed you to this paradise Island.

As I walk along the pier towards the beach I've wowed again. The drums are beating as I walk and I don’t know where to look first.

The color of the water on both sides is even more vivid than it had been from the air.

The turquoise water meets the white sandy beach that is lined with palm trees and lush greenery. I had truly arrived in heaven.

I am taken to my water villa and wow is all I can say about that. Lol

These water villas had only just been opened so I had the privilege of being the very first person to ever stay in the villa I was in.

As I walk into my new home for the next eleven days, I have to pinch myself, I can’t believe I am here.

Walking into the bathroom was insane, a huge white tub stands in the center of the room in front of the window. The floor is glass so you can see the water below and the view from the shower and bath is just ridiculous.

The color of the water on both sides is even more vivid than it had been from the air.

The only thing missing was a sexy gorgeous tanned hunk to share it with me. Lol

My smile had just gotten even bigger if that was possible as I amuse myself for a second with my happy, naughty thoughts.

And… there were stingrays

A couple of hours after arriving I got my first experience of feeding the stingrays. Not something you get to do every day. What amazed me was that they instinctively know exactly what time to come to the shore and feed, can you imagine? How clever are they?

They swish around my feet as I step into the water and take a piece of tuna from the bucket to feed one of them. As I do that I can stroke their slimy soft skin. Weirdly amazing is all I have to say about that.

The next day after lounging around on the mind-blowingly beautiful beach. We all go on a boat to another Island to snorkel.

A couple of hours after arriving I got my first experience of feeding the stingrays.

This had to be one of the most beautiful things I have done in my life to this date.

Entering the clear water filled with the most vivid colored fish and corals I was mesmerized again. I got so close to a large shoal of fish that I was swimming alongside them. As I look below there is a turtle swimming below me. All around me I am just surrounded by the most amazing colorful fish I have ever seen.

What a beautiful majestic, peaceful world it is under there, everything just flowing in harmony, if only our world could be like that. It kinda made me wish that I could come back in my next life as a beautiful fish in the Maldives, they all looked like they were having so much fun. Lol

Snorkeling with all of my children, all having the same reaction to this wonder of life was something I will never forget as long as I live.

The journey back to Kanifushi Island

Moving back as the sun is going down is another mind-blowing experience. Hundreds of pods of Dolphins swim alongside our boat as we head towards the incredible sunset. A euphoric moment, as I sit on the front of the boat and watch the younger dolphins jumping and spinning up out of the water, giving us a spectacular show. These moments in life are just so precious.

We went out again a couple of days later in the hunt for the elusive whale sharks that had been seen earlier that morning.

We all jump off the boat and as I am swimming it suddenly occurs to me that I am in the middle of the sea, Arghhhh!!!! This is something I never do, but I was so eager to swim with these beautiful majestic creatures, that I was doing things right out of my box.

After hours of relentless searching in different areas, they were sadly nowhere to be seen.

I think that experience will have to wait until the next time, hopefully, then I will get a chance to swim with these magnificent fish.

In total contrast, the hundreds of little hermit crabs on the beach were also another great source of entertainment and I could have watched them all day long.

The food was amazing in all the different restaurants and I overdosed on the most succulent fresh lobster I have ever tasted.

Moving back as the sun is going down is another mind-blowing experience.

While everyone was sleeping I took my chance to take early morning runs along the white sandy beach. I was the only one there, wow, it was just so therapeutic. Having a moment to myself, in such beautiful surroundings felt surreal as I soaked it all up. I was completely drunk on nature and so grateful that I could have this beautiful time with my family.

It has its pros and cons

But I have fallen in love with Kanifushi Island and Island life, ‘Messy hair don’t care’, all day long, love it!

The Maldives has me hooked and I would recommend this experience to everyone. If you have to save for years to do it, it is something that every single person should experience in life. I will be back for sure.

The Maldives Islands are really and truly a piece of paradise on earth.
