In one of my previous blogs, I wrote about the Banyan Tree resort in Bintan which is an island very close to Singapore.

It wowed me, so I just had to go back and experience it. The Sanchaya Hotel was on the same Island, outskirts of Singapore and, as I had heard, it was even more grandiose than the Banyan Tree when I went in October 2019.

From the moment I arrived at the ferry 'terminal' in Bintan, The Sanchaya staff welcomed us and I felt completely spoilt whilst they manage the immigration process effortlessly and efficiently.

At the moment I felt pampered as I sat in the VIP lounge being served a welcoming cup of tea.

The journey to our destination was only around ten minutes or so and I was enchanted to see a monkey crossing the road in front of us as we were driving alone.

Walking through the foyer and out to the pool evokes feelings of being in another world.

Traditionally inspired 19th-century classic colonial style, this amazing hotel is a hidden treasure amongst the trees right on a beautiful white sandy beach.

Yes, it is indeed another wow!!

The sun is about to go down but I literally can't wait to get that gorgeous soft white sand in between my toes. I take my shoes off and walk onto the beach which is laden with palm trees.

Turning around I look back at the resort, I inhale deeply through my nostrils as I feel slightly overwhelmed by the beauty and serenity of my surroundings, exhaling in the sheer delight of this moment.

It was so great to share this experience with my family and we had taken three private one-bedroom villas with a shared pool.

The bedroom was also amazing!

What can I say about the rooms, I dare not say wow again, but they are exquisite, this resort has an unmistakable women touch, yet masculine at the same time, a perfect combination.

I slide open the door to see the huge white bed in front of me which is sumptuous and I can hear myself saying 'I can't wait to get in there'.

As I enter the bathroom I pass through an area, on the right a dressing room and wardrobe, where two rather fluffy robes are calling me.

This bathroom is a total Instagram bliss.

On the left another room with a champagne fridge, coffee maker and teapot for afternoon tea.

I excitedly delved into everything exploring every nook and cranny, only to find draws full of chocolates and goodies, I had indeed arrived in heaven.

Hmmm, this was a woman's touch. Walking into the bathroom yet again I am reassured that there must be a woman involved in this design.

The bath stands freely in the middle of the bathroom. A magnificent dressing table with mirrors for all angles on one side and a beautiful sink area on the other. This bathroom is a total Instagram bliss.

The black and white theme is manly but so classy and elegant. I am intrigued to find out who built this place.

My investigations did not surprise me as I found out that the founder, CEO, and creator of this paradise is the fabulous Natalya Pavchinskaya.

Another wow comes to mind as I read about this amazing Russian businesswoman. I am in awe of her insight and vision to create such an amazing place.

Then Breakfast came in!

I have to say that I don't think I have ever sat in such a beautiful setting to enjoy my breakfast.

Overlooking the pool and beach beyond, I had an overwhelming rush of happiness and an urge to go and explore more.

As I took a walk along the beach after breakfast I notice that there is a lot of building going on next to Sanchaya. Another resort is in the making and it occurred to me how untouched this place is at the moment.

Very soon this area will become a huge tourist attraction, so if you want to try a holiday like no other, unparalleled for serenity, elegance and pure class then you better hurry.

As I walk further I get a real feeling of what it may have been like as an explorer back in the day when Asia was first discovered.

On my return, I announce that I can't wait to go for a run right along the beach later but I am talked out of it immediately by my not so adventurous daughter. She isn't so enthusiastic and more fearful of what may happen along the way.

I literally would be the only one on the beach, which to me is bliss but as the trees meet the beach, who knows what animals I may come across, after all, I am in Indonesia.

Instead, I choose to keep her happy and be civilized, doing a bit of paddleboarding, croquet, and archery.

Dinner is divine as we sit in our perfectly placed reserved table by the pool. Over the three nights, we try all the restaurants and are delightfully surprised. The food and service are fabulous in all of them.

As the staff set the ambiance and light a fire on the beach, yet again it feels like being in another world and it's hard to believe we are just one hour from Singapore.

The Sanchaya has only been operating since 2014 but is without a doubt the most luxurious resort on Bintan Island and has a huge thumbs up from me.

This is the perfect weekender to include in a holiday to Singapore, it is not only romantic and enchanting, but I can assure you it is an experience like no other.

Absolutely loved it!!!!
