Karina Miller Blog 15: A rainy day in Singapore 2019
24-05-2019So I am back in Singapore and it's a rainy day so I thought I would just put some words down on paper.

I really don't mind the rain here as there is something so nice about tropical rain. I just love to swim in the pool when it's raining. It is one of those moments in life that makes you happy to be alive. And Natasha Bedingfield's lyrics come to mind... "Feel the rain on your face, no one else can feel it for you, only you can let it in."
There is just something about being in the water and putting your face up to the sky and letting the warm rain trickle down your face, it's one of life's pleasures for sure.
Of course, this is only advisable if there is no lightning otherwise you could be in big trouble Lol.
My visit this time has been particularly rainy might need a holiday after this hahaha.
It is perfectly normal for Singapore to be rainy, it doesn't get its name 'The Garden City' for nothing. These rainy outbursts clear the air and keep the city green and lush.
I would not have thought it was possible but the weather is more unpredictable than the U.K. The only difference being that right behind every cloud or rain storm the sun is waiting patiently for it to pass. -Umbrellas are probably the best selling items in Singapore. Lol
Anyway enough about the rain, let's talk about something more exciting.
Singapore has very recently opened a new club 'Marquee' the largest Club in Singapore. It is so large it has a Ferris Wheel inside.
I am going to have to stop writing this blog and go and check it out, I will get back to you later with the verdict, I am sure it will be mind-blowing. Well, it turns out that I couldn't get a table as they are fully booked for the next three months. Wow, I will have to check it out the next time I guess.
Instead, I had dinner in the 'Skai' restaurant at the Swiss hotel. Wow, mind blowing views. This place has to be in the top five views in the world, from any restaurant.
The last time I saw this particular view it had been at the F1 last year, also at the same hotel with a view overlooking the bay. I had been watching the race from a balcony 30 floors up with the T.V. camera crew. As I sit at the bar I am just overwhelmed by the magnificence of it all.
I am now seeing the same view but from 70 floors up and it gives it a whole new perspective. Just wow, wow, wow and that's all I have to say about that.
The next day I take a walk in The Gardens by The Bay at Marina Bay Sands and after so many years of coming to Singapore I finally decide to actually go inside one of the domes in the Garden that feature all the different plants in Asia.
The Cloud Forest reminds me of 'Avatar' the movie.

When I walk in I am immediately wowed by the world's tallest indoor waterfall at 30 meters it descends through the surreal mist-filled Cloud Walk and Tree Top Walk.
At the top of this tropical mountain, the plants absorb the refreshing mist and abundant rainfall, releasing the water gradually creating a constant long-lasting supply to even more plants beneath.
I was seriously expecting a dragon-like creature to fly out from under the waterfall.
I felt connected to this mystical tropical mountain and would have loved to be able to plug myself into a tree to get the full experience. Hahaha
I didn't get time to visit the second dome that will have to also wait until the next visit.
Changing the subject completely, I managed to be lucky enough to go to the Sky High Brunch at Ce La Vie, Marina Bay Sands.
This event happens every three months and it just so happens to be happening whilst I am here lucky me. :)
After having been to several brunches in Dubai, that I thought was pretty amazing, I wanted to see if this one could beat them all. -I have to say the atmosphere is electric and the music is on point. This is literally 'Nikki Beach' in the sky.
People of all ages enjoying themselves to the full. The party is in full swing and the music is pumping, just at that moment the heavens open up and we have a rain shower for a good ten minutes, followed by sunshine, very shortly after. That's Singapore for you. LOl
This doesn't affect anyone's mood and everyone carries on dancing in the rain. Except me of course as I am frantically struggling a losing battle to keep my hair straight. Lol
It was a fab party and I would recommend it to all. Day partying is my favorite thing so this was just perfect.
Yes, The Sky High Brunch gets a big thumbs up from me.

To top it all off my daughter and I spent the day at the Spa at Resorts World Sentosa.
This experience was so relaxing I can't begin to tell you. Between the Mineral pools, jacuzzi pool and cold plunge pool it was delightful. The spa area goes straight back into the jungle. I was expecting an ape or two to come and join us. Hahaha
A unique experience in the tropical heat of Singapore, it was surreal.
Singapore I will be back for some more adventures very soon.
