Karina Miller Blog 10: Indulging Dubai’s famous brunches 2018
15-10-2018After spending a couple of glorious summer months in London, which by the way is a first for me and thoroughly enjoyable as the weather was superb.
My feet are getting slightly itchy again and I find myself being drawn back to Dubai. Amazing Dubai, I can’t resist even in the heat of the summer. Haha, It is going to be hot hot hot.
My trip to Dubai will be for a week and then on to Singapore to see my daughter and indulge in a little F1 Grand Prix excitement. I absolutely love Singapore at this time of year, there is such a buzz in town.

The Singapore Grand Prix night race is the only one in the world. The decibel from the engines roaring around the Marina Bay Circuit pumps adrenaline into my veins. It fuels me with excitement and anticipation of the infamous Amber Lounge after party.
Yes, I am in for a lovely time in the coming weeks, for sure.
“London I adore you”, but it’s time to leave again. You know what they say, too much of a good thing and all of that! Haha, Plus the temperature is starting to drop as you can feel that Autumn is just around the corner.
As I look through all of my summer clothes, I decide that a little last minute shopping may be necessary. I wander off into Oxford street to see what there is only to find that woolly bobble hats are already adorning the shops. Wow, I have left it a bit late for last minute summer shopping as there is nothing left.

Oh well, I am just going to have to make do with what I have and it’s not like I don’t have enough as my wardrobe is stuffed with summer dresses. (Lucky me) :)
I arrive in Dubai and the heat smacks me in the face as I leave the airport. Wow, this is hardcore but having lived abroad most of my life I will just deal with it. Every time I go to Dubai it’s a completely different experience. This time I am going to indulge in one of Dubai’s famous brunches.
My friend decides that we should go to the Atlantis The Palm as apparently, it is pretty lively. As I had arrived late on a Thursday, I have a quiet night and save myself for what was about to happen on a Friday.
The weekend in Dubai is Friday and Saturday so everyone is doing brunch on a Friday and going wild. I had dolled myself up for the occasion wearing an L.B.D (Little Black Dress, for those of you who don’t get abbreviations.) I could have just written that in the first place! Hahaha oh well back to the story. According to my well-informed advisory, this was the way to go as there is no such thing as overdressed!
Looking the part, my friend and I arrive at the Atlantis. The entrance is stunning which always warrants minute or two taken to stop and take it all in. As we are ushered into the brunch room the place is already booming with cool music and enthusiastic bruncher's.

Wow, the food is amazing and everything is available for the fussiest of taste buds. All so beautifully prepared, it is mind-boggling, where do I start? The food on display is endless, which actually you wouldn’t have thought by the way the enthusiastic brunchers were getting overly enthusiastic. Haha
As much food and booze as you can consume in four hours, they were going for it like there was no tomorrow. Everyone is in party mode as copious amounts of alcohol are being consumed by the minute. I ate until I couldn’t move and drank far more than I should of, but that was the whole experience and I indulged to the full.
The atmosphere is wild with people dancing on the tables and doing the conga. Everyone is going nuts and doing whatever the hell they want. For those of you who think that this kind of party doesn’t go on in Dubai, think again, trust me no one cares. It came to mind that perhaps Marbella could follow in Dubai’s footsteps and start doing brunches, it was so much fun.
After Brunch, we head to the Penthouse at Five Jumeirah Hotel, where everyone is continuing the party.
As I gather fodder for my next book, with all the funny situations going on around me, my initiation to Dubai’s famous brunches has been enlightening. I manage to do a full twelve-hour session, which I hadn’t really done since Marbella at Nikki Beach.
The party girl can still do it. Hahaha
A great time was had by all and I will definitely be back for more.
