Annika Urm Blog: My First Cleaning and Detox retreat in Bali 201727-11-2017
This was my first but surely not last detox, cleansing and rejuvenation retreat program at The Golden Rock Retreat Bali in October 2017. My main goal with this visit was to put to shape my whole physical, mental and spiritual being.
Everyone has their own weight to burden, their own piece of the real world. And my life is full of action which I enjoy, but this also brings a lot of stress and different vibrations.
My travel partner this time is Veiko House, and we both have the same goal, body cleansing and weight loss so I was not alone.
The Golden Rock Retreat Bali is holistic detox and rejuvenation center in Bali at the eastern tip of Bali coast not far from the most sacred volcano Mount Agung, what has been lately active from 25.09.2017, But don’t worry, there is no danger.
Getting there from Estonia takes a lot though, 3 flights for a total of 30 hours + a 4-hour drive. But here I am and nothing can keep me from relaxing and being reborn.
Golden Rock is located at a 10-minute drive from the village of Amed. The Retreat is famous for its diving and snorkeling activities, its temples and its paradisiac feeling beaches and nearby villages.
Mount Agung is home to the mother temple of Bali named Besakih which is actually a complex of many temples and were started to build in the eighth century when Buddhism and Hinduism first came to Bali.
Mount Agung is by itself a very amazing spot. Despite not being so popular among tourist, it provides beautiful areas to walk and shows off a natural and magical side of Bali that you just can’t let pass.
The Golden Rock Retreat Bali is designed to deeply cleanse your body, rejuvenate your nervous system and re-energize your entire being.
We arrived at the destination late in the evening at 18:30 with an empty stomach. Surprisingly, there was a tiny detox clinic for about 5-8 hosts built up in the mountains with good energy and located directly by the sea with an amazing view, but a lot of stairs.
Later on, we received the next day's Detox menu, which consisted of cleansing vitamins, and weight loss drinks. The program also included yoga, some procedures, and massages.
We had a nice dinner consisted by spinach and broccoli soup lean, garlic-lemon juice and orange juice with a laxative effect.
After that, all Days consisted of a mix of exercising, procedures and a lot of natural and detoxing drinks. People here keep you hydrated during the whole day, it doesn’t matter where you are, they get beverages to you every hour and the drinks vary through the day.
Day One – The first round.
Relaxed and tired are not as far from each other as you may think, and these people make sure that you understand that.
We woke up at 7:30 and started the day with warm lemon and coconut juice.
Later, we had chi gung at the seaside in the open pavilion while villagers came back from fishing in the morning with wonderful fishponds that have both balancers and sails. A moment that I found very enjoyable.
After that, we continued to work out by jumping, walking and relaxing the lower part of the body with infusions and sauna.
Then, when the training time was over, we climbed to the reception desk on the hill, where we received magnetic therapy for 15 minutes and ozone treatment O3 to kill all bacteria and fungus, which had to be kept for at least 15 minutes
Around the 14:00 hours we had a massage and at 17:00 was time for yoga.
Dinner was at 18:30 hours and we had some vegetables soup lean and drinks followed by a 15-minutes Steam bath and a magnesium drink before going to bed.
At the end of the day, I felt tired but it was really relaxing.
Day two - the second round and a surprise
All days are the complex were pretty much the same but there was always something special happening to keep me awake.
On the 2nd day, I felt pretty good until evening when I started to feel weak and found t difficult to sleep all night.
We had a 1-hour snorkeling trip with a local fisherman boat who took us to the reef to see the beautiful corals and many colored fish.
The whole shore was full of fishing boats that go there every morning to fish Mackerel, this fish is caught with a net and a really fun looking boat.
In the evening we rented a vehicle from the local guys to drive around 6 km to get to an ATM.
This was a separate adventure, one that made us realize that we are on the edge of the world where there is no street and much fewer street lights.
Golden Rock has pretty bad phone coverage, most of the signal is on the next hill and the internet also comes and goes so I could only check the urgent emails, and of course, the news doesn’t reach you here.
Day 3 - Recovery
I was really weak and I believe Veiko was feeling off as well. However, we got up and went to yoga, training, and procedures.
The lunch was long and after having lunch and the massage I felt pretty well and started writing my blog :)
Day 4 – Feel good INC
By this moment I was feeling super and had a lot of energy. We went snorkeling 2 times, took a scooter to go to the city again for the ATM machine and buying snorkeling equipment.
We stopped on a marvelous beach with black and golden sand, which was wonderful.
Day 5 – Liver Flush
Day 5 we didn’t go out, we had Liver Flush and the rest of the day we just stock to the program.
Day 6 – Part Day
Our sixth day was fantastic! We got Fruits in morning! Wow, this was party day! For lunch, we had green vegetables and at night soup with vegetables! Not just soup lean!
We left the facility on the next day but had to continue with the program, it turns out that you have to wait 4 more days before eating proteins and foods other than fruits and vegetables… the steak had to wait.
The best thing I heard on this trip was it is a trip “relaxing from eating”! The perfect way to state how our body gets stressed by the amount of junk food, alcohol, and medicines that spoil our health making it harder to maintain an optimum level of health and wellbeing.
The program I took integrates internal cleansing based on modern energetic techniques and equipment combined with physical healing techniques and traditional therapies like yoga, meditation, chi gung.
Here they teach you that to clean your body you also need to clean your mind and provide a peaceful environment freeing you from negative energies may stack in your body and releasing you in an emotional level.
This way, you also end up free of stress and negative mental patterns that grow in you over the years.
My Mantra in this journey was “I AM HAPPY, I AM RICH, I AM HEALTHY, I AM PERFECT, I AM LOVE, I AM GRATEFUL” and at the end of it, I feel refresh and somehow reborn.
Detoxing is the first step on the road towards health, happiness, and vitality.
Our lifestyle is usually filled with bad habits and unhealthy food and our daily menu often lack enough fresh water and chemical-free fruits and vegetables which traduces into a degenerative process in our body.
There is a Buddhist mantra that establishes “a healthy soul inhabits a healthy mind and a healthy body”.
Therefore, in order to restore your body, this detoxing retreat takes care of 4 facts:
1) Control the PH of the body
2) Control your blood Values
3) Bowel and colon cleansing
4) Liver Cleansing
We paid and received a full-week program so we stayed at the suite villa for 8 days and 7 nights enjoying a 360° sea view.
The price we paid was 3087,00 USD for 2 people –About 221 USD each night for individually- which included the transfer from and toward the airport, all the treatments, massage, exercises, food, drinks, and therapies. For swimming, we bought snorkeling equipment and water shoes.
I love traveling, and Detoxing and cleansing made me feel so pure, refresh and light. Now I feel my mind working so quickly and my senses pretty sharped.
I feel totally reborn and will surely schedule another session, probably longer since there are also programs for 10, 14 and 21 days of detoxing treatment.
What could be a better way to detox and clean your body than waking up next to the sea with an awesome view and the of the waves gently salutes you in the morning, followed by a day of attention, training, snorkeling sauna, massage, and drinks?
