Melanie Amaro was the last contestant featured from the Miami rounds of the X factor USA auditions and she made an impression to the judges for sure!

The 18 year old from Sunrise, Florida, took to the stage and gave an astounding rendition of ‘Listen’ from hit movie ‘Dreamgirls,’ for the judging panel. She started out well and we knew that good things were to come, almost from the first note of her performance. However, verse by verse, the young singer got progressively better and by the end, Simon Cowell’s eye were lighting up and almost flashing dollar signs!

Melanie had the confidence usually seen in singers well beyond her age and seemed perfectly comfortable on stage, in front of thousands of people as well as some of the most influential stars from the American music scene.

Thankfully for her, the judges loved her performance and Nicole evenbroke down in tears because of the emotion of it all. They raved about it saying:

Nicole Scherzinger: This is why I do this. people like you inspire me.

Simon Cowell: I was asked by a lot of people why I was bringing this show to America….it was because I hoped I was going to find someone like you.

Paula Abdul: You have a unique ability, unlike anything we’ve heard. I don’t think it’s like anything I’ve ever heard at any audition that I’ve ever been to. You are the brightest gift, God bless you.

L.A. Reid: Melanie, you are truly amazing honey. You have the gift, you have the soul, you have the spirit, you have the swagger, you have the X Factor. Everything I walked away from to do X Factor, you just made it worthwhile.
