Winter in Finland's Lakeland is a magical time. The countryside is hushed by the sugary mantle of snow. Rivers and streams freeze, suspended in time as winter asserts its grip. It's time for all kinds of fun, action and adventure. Tahko is just one place, where many Russians, Estonians and Latvians come to spend their winter holidays. There are 23 downhill skiing slopes and a 65-kilometre network of cross-country skiing trails at visitors disposal. Additionally, there are snowmobiles, skis, skates, horses, dogsled rides, reindeers, rally cars! 

Wide range of excellent accommodation and restaurants are a further guarantee of a pleasant stay. Finnish people have distinctive foods, such as Karelian pastry, bake-apple jam, Leipäjuusto (a fresh cow's milk cheese), smoked ham and beef, grilled sausages aso. As for the drinks, the most common is Minttu liqueur, which is a crystal clear peppermint liqueur produced in Turku by Vin & Sprit and also hot chocolate drink.
