Twenty Málaga villages have a third foreign population

The latest Padrón local census numbers, published by the INE, National Statistics Institute, show the increasing trend for foreigners to move inland.
Some 20 villages in Málaga province have a more than 33% of their population made up of foreigners, of which there are nearly 300,000 across the province.
The foreigners living in Málaga come from more than 100 different countries but are led by the nearly 70,000 Britons, followed by 27,000 Moroccans, 16,000 Germans, 13,000 Romanians, and the Argentineans and Italians, both at more than 11,000.
In Benahavís is reaches 60% and it is over 40% in Manilva, Mijas, Alcaucín and Cómpeta.
