MARBELLA RUGBY CLUB vs C.R. COSTA DEL SOL

The sun came out on Saturday and shone on the Bahia Park ground for the local derby match between Marbella Rugby Club and Club de Rugby Costa del Sol. The Benalmadena Club has only been in existence for two years and this is their first full season in the Andalusian League.

 And it was the visitors who got off to the quicker start, scoring the first try against a sleeping Marbella defense. The try served to wake Marbella up, however, and they were soon playing some dynamic rugby, scoring four tries and and going into the half time break leading 29-5.

Club de Rugby Costa del Sol struck back with a try after the break to make the score 29-12, but Marbella stretched their lead with a fifth try and conversion for 36-12. The final stages of the match saw tries for both sides, to make the final score 41 -17 to Marbella. An excellent result for Marbella in the first derby match between the sides.
