Spain Has 3 Of World's 8 Most Expensive Marinas
27-05-2011 Comments (3)
Three of the eight most expensive marina berths in the world are in Spain.
This was revealed in a new report compiled by Engel and Völkers Yachting which shows Puerto Banus in Marbella ranks fourth and cost yacht owners €2,069 per day.
Ibiza Magna came in fifth with a daily price tag of €1,643 and Marina Port Vell in Barcelona was eighth at €1,084 per day.
Meanwhile, the top three most expensive can all be found in Italy.Marina Grande on the island of Capri costs the princely sum of €2,585 per day, while the daily cost at Porto Cervo in Sardinia is only slightly less at €2,574 and Marina di Portofino on the Amalfi coast is €2,100 per day.
These statistics are based on prices for a basic rate marina berth for a 55-meter super-yacht during the respective high season.
“Many yacht owners are surprised that Capri is more expensive than Porto Cervo and that Puerto Banus charges higher prices than Monaco,” said Harry Peralta, Managing Director at Engel and Völkers Marbella.
