Almeria is firmly on the map as a concert venue with the announcement that the hugely talented and slightly sexy Shakira will be in concert in Almeria during her summer tour.

The Mayor of Almeria is obviously very chuffed at the prospect of Shakira performing in Almeria and expects the audience to be between 30,000 and 40,000.

The venue for ‘The Sun Rises’ tour in Almeria will be the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos on Wednesday 1st June 2011.

Many are surprised at Shakira’s choice to perform in Almeria as she is only perforning at four Spanish venues in total but credit has to be given to the Mayor, Luis Rogelio Rodríguez Comendador for his negotiations with Shakira and her management company.

With such a star like Shakira performing a concert in Almeria many local businesses and very excited at the prospect of the much needed income it will bring to the area and the concert alone is estimated to have an economic benefit of around 2 million euros.

Tickets will available from all of the usual Spanish ticket outlets such as El Corte Ingles and will be priced between 50€ and 80€ with special VIP tickets also available.
