Selection process starts for Spain's candidate at the Oscars

The film which will represent Spain in the Foreign Language category will be announced on September 28.
A total of 96 films are vying to represent Spain at the Oscars, but will have to wait until September 14 when the Spanish Film Academy will announce its shortlist of three nominations.
The final selection of the Spanish candidate selected to compete in the Best Film in a Foreign Language category will be announced on September 28.
The Spanish Film Academy is running a parallel selection process for Mexico’s Ariel Awards. Eighty eight films are competing to be the Spanish candidate in the Best Ibero-American Film category; the final selection will also be announced on September 28.
