If you smoke in Málaga, do it quietly

City Hall has launched a campaign to raise awareness amongst smokers about the noise they create when smoking outside bars in the street.
Málaga City Hall has started a new campaign to reduce the noise pollution which is caused by people who gather outside bars to smoke on the city’s streets and terraces. Entitled, ‘If you smoke, do it quietly’, it aims to raise awareness amongst smokers of the problems they can cause to others who may be trying to sleep.
The campaign will include posters calling for respect for others, to be placed at bar exits. They will be available for download from the City Hall webpage by bars which want to take part in the campaign, and it’s understood from Diario Sur that a print run of 1,000 posters is also to be distributed by the business association.
The paper indicates that there have been an increasing number of calls to police this year complaining about noise levels at night in the city.
