Fifty foreign families, mainly English and Irish, is believed to be traveling today to Marbella explicitly to declare in court against MacAnthony's Real Estate. The proprietor of the company, Darragh MacAnthony, and other ex-directors have been accused to have been scamming clients at the time of selling property in several countries such as Turkey, Bulgaria, Cabo Verde, Italy, France, and Morocco.

Clients accuse that MacAnthony has kept an average of 500.000 to 600.000 euros from the total amounts of deposits, approximately 15.000 euros per head. According to lawyer Antonio Flores, the company offered "amazing deals" to past clients who had already dealt with the company before, to make them believe they were being offered an exclusive offer. It is believed that when the recession erupted in Marbella, this money was used for other purposes.

The affected clients have assisted Marbella Court this morning to claim for the refund of their investment and ask for justice. According to the lawyers, most of the transactions where completed in the Marbella office, where back in the day ex-Mayor Jesús Gil use to base his Financial Club. MacAnthony's then closed and changed their address to a "fake office" address in Madrid, where the registered administrator is a 90 year old inactive man.

Daragh MacAnthony is actually the proprietor of a Football Team in the Championship League of the English FA, Peterborough United.
