Maradona Headed to Costa del Sol?
25-02-2011 Comments (15)Malaga Making a Play for Argentine Legend
- Diego Maradona has indicated he is interested in returning to management with an eye towards Spain as his reentry point.
- “My desire (to coach) remains intact and I reckon I could do it in Spain,” said Maradona.
- “After the 2010 World Cup, I received two or three interesting proposals. But they didn’t suit me. I thanked (the clubs) and said the time wasn’t right.”
- “But now that the summer has passed, I’m approaching things differently.”
- A high ranking official at Malaga CF would not deny reports that the Costa del Sol club has entered the fray with progressive owner Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani looking to make yet another splash which has become common sice his administration began last year. Under his stewardship Malaga has imported big name veterans such as Argentine defender Martin Demichelis, Brazilian playmaker Julio Baptista, and Atletico Madrid starlet Sergio Asenjo.
- Currently last in La Liga and facing relegation Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini has been forced to look over his shoulder at a possible replacement and none would make bigger headlines than Maradona himself.

What a bloody joke Malaga are becoming, even more so if they entertain having this buffoon anywhere near La roselada, let alone the managers desk.

Gotta agree with Morten , great players don't make great coaches . Would be good for publicity but Malaga should look for a shrewd coach . Maybe they could tempt Guardiola !
