John Lennon's work comes to Gibraltar
26-10-2009 Comments (2)An exhibition of Beatles legend, John Lennon’s artwork will go on show in Gibraltar next month to mark the 40th Anniversary of the wedding of John and Yoko in Gibraltar.
The exhibition, which includes around 45 pieces, 14 of which have been newly released, will give art and Beatles lovers the chance to see a more personal side of Lennon’s life, including his relationship with his wife, Yoko Ono and their son, Sean.
According to Euro Weekly News, Lennon began drawing long before he had a guitar. He attended the prestigious Liverpool Art Institute for three years and he continued to draw throughout his life. John’s primary medium was line drawing either in pen, pencil, or Japanese sumi ink. His drawings became illustrations for three best selling books that he wrote in the 60s.
The exhibition takes place from November 10 – 20 in Fine Arts Gallery, Grand Casemates Square, Gibraltar. The exhibition is free of charge.
