It's really hard to end a relationship when there isn’t anything "wrong" with the guy. Maybe you are  simply headed in different directions—he wants to settle down, but you are itching for adventure. If you're wondering how to leave an awesome guy, here are top three tips…

1. Don’t pick a fight. It’s tempting to start squabbles in hopes that he’ll simply break up with you and save you the trouble. But that’s cruel and unfair. It's much better to address what's really going on.

2. Don’t beat around the bush. When there isn’t a specific problem in a relationship—like cheating—a gentle, yet direct approach is best. A simple, “You're a really great guy, but I don’t feel the chemistry anymore, and we both deserve to have that” is better than a two-hour spiel that will only leave both of you confused.

3. Make it stick. Because he is a good guy, it’s tempting to stay in contact (or even continue to hook up), but it's important to resist. Commit to at least a month of no talking, texting or F-booking to give him time to move on.
