Xusan Teo Food Column Vol.13 "Suite du Ciel & Namazake Restaurant"03-07-2012
Food review by Xusan Teo – Suite du Ciel and Namazake - Sake & Sushi Restaurant, the two incredible new venues recently opened glamourously by Suite at Hotel Puente Romano!
Going down past the entrance of Suite, through the cosy deco we walked into the new venue Suite du Ciel with spectacular and romantic settings throughout the Namazake restaurant and bar, with dining inside or alfresco. We were received by Rafael, the famous restaurant manager of Suite. We chose to sit out in the open air with cool summer breeze, enjoying our aperitif while we studied the impressive menu of Namazake.
By looking at the selections in the menu, we were already prepared for a great
Japanese feast! We ordered the delicious starters; Seaweed Salad with Prawn,
Assorted Sashimi with homemade dressing, King Prawn Tempura and Scallops
Carpaccio. For the wine, we choose the white Marques de Riscal; dry but yet slightly fruity, a nice Sauvignon from the Rueda region.
For the main course, we went for the Seared Tuna, nicely seared and slightly raw
inside. Chicken Yakitori, the best, very tasty Chicken Yakitori with great flavour that I have not tasted for a long time! The Scallops were cooked to perfection, still moist in the inside and of course a must, some assorted Sushi and Sashimi platters. It was all divine, great texture, very flavoursome and definitely served with high quality
As the meal was rather healthy, we decided to have a go at the calories! The fluffy warm Chocolate cake with Yuzu and Lime was light and refreshing. Sake Sorbet over Lychee Jelly was very interesting and yummy too. For coconut lover, don’t miss the Coconut Lemongrass Lollipops with warm caramel sauce! That was my grand finale!
