Food review by Xusan Teo: Suite, Puente Romano Hotel
11-02-2012Looking no further for a perfect in-place to Dine and Dance both under one roof as there is no “sweeter” place better than SUITE in Hotel Puente Romano; a great place for a romantic dinner or an evening with friends where you find great ambience, friendly service and constant quality food all in one!
Slowly down the stairs into the Moroccan room, we were invited to a glass of cava to start the evening by Rafael, the popular Manager of Suite. Tonight, Wolfgang Schlesier, owner of Casa Marbella, John Bimji and Lorriane Powell were my guests. The room is decorated in Moroccan style, where dinners can enjoy the romantic and cozy ambience. We were ready to savor the fine cuisine and dance all our way through the night!
Rafael and I have decided to go for their signature dishes, a variation of starters and main courses, followed by desserts. We were started off with a light warm amuse with tuna and a bottle of white wine; Finca La Colina, Sauvignon Blanc, a Rueda slightly fruity yet dry, delicious!
Our first starter was a star, beautifully presented as well; Sashimi of Salmon, Tuna, Sea Bass and Scallops. The combination of the fish, not forgetting the great homemade dressing together with a bit of Japanese pickled Seaweed and Fish Roe was just so fresh and delicate and you simply just want to say mmmmm!

I love Scallops prepared in anyway, the Salad with Scallops was next and I have to say that the lightly cooked Scallops were exquisite and perfectly done, light and moist. Topped with a Salad of Seaweed, Avocado, Cherry and Green tomatoes, it was truly a perfect balance of fresh ingredients.
The Pigeon Pie Royal was no any ordinary pie, normally I don´t order pies but it turned out to be the best pie I ever had for a long time. It surprised us all and we totally agreed that the best kept secret was inside this pie. It was so yummy that it made you want for more!
Our first main course was nicely cooked pink Sesame-crusted Tuna Loin served with Rocket salad. Nice crust on the outside and soft but firm on the inside, innovative presentation and no doubt a 10 for quality!

The second main course was Vegetarian Cous Cous, prepared in Moroccan style, light and healthy!
For meat or steak lover, you got to try this perfectly grilled and tasty Mignonettes of Beef served with Béarnaise sauce and Ecological Vegetables over Himalayan salt plate. Actually the beef on its own would already stand out. The meat was so flavorsome and tender; it is just out of this world!

A fine dining is never fine without a sweet ending! We had the Red Berries Pavlova and a refreshing plate of Seasonal Fruit Landscape.
While the dining experience was nearing the end, the soft music in the background has slowly but surely pumped up. The lights dimmed gently and lasers started to swing……..it’s now party time at SUITE!!
