Benalmádena Port to become largest in Andalucía
01-02-2012Puerto Marina is set to double size and become the largest marina in Andalucía. The Socialist Mayor of Benalmádena, Javier Carnero, on Monday welcomed the regional councillor for public works, Josefina Cruz, who gave him the concession which authorises the expansion of Benalmádena port, Puerto Marina.
The new concession from the Public Agency for Ports in Andalucía has now approved an almost doubling of the size of the port and granted the Town Hall another 30 years concession.
It will take over an additional 38 hectares offshore, and a new 26,000 square metre dock will allow for 19000 square metres of buildings for more shops and leisure facilities.
825 new berths will make it the largest marina in Andalucía with a total of 1,700.
