The Spanish Formula 1 star, Fernando Alonso, has taken up residence in the Swiss town of Mont-sur-Rolle, located between Geneva and Lausanne, so he will now be in closer proximity to the Ferrari headquarters in Maranello (Italy)...

According to the Swiss newspaper, 'Blick', yesterday, Alonso´s former Swiss home is nearly 600 km from Maranello, while his new residence in Lugano is just over 250 kilometers from the factory of the legendary Italian team. Alonso will be moving from the French part of the country to the Swiss side where they speak Italian, in the region of Tessin, a short distance from the Italian border and from Milan.

According to this newspaper, the Spanish driver has already moved to his new home in Lugano, which now seems to be becoming very popular amongst the Formula 1 drivers; Jarno Trulli and Vitantonio Liuzz have fixed residences their mainly due to its tax benefits and Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Nick Heidfeld, Timo Glock, Adrian Sutil, Heikki Kovalainen, as well as the Spaniard, Pedro de la Rosa, are also residents in Switzerland.
