Celebrity fitness for autumn
21-11-2009 Comments (2)The summer sun may be fading but the heat is on for the owners of Hollywood's hottest celebrity bodies. Take a look how some of the world's most beautiful women will resort to in order to keep their muscle tone.
Beyoncé: Weight training
Beyoncé Knowles may be a married woman now, but to keep those perfectly honed curves, she spends hours in the gym. "I work out as soon as I get up in the morning," says the sexy singer and actress, "that way I feel more energised through the day and I feel better about myself."
Other celebrities, who love weight training: Kate Beckinsale and Sandra Bullock.
Jennifer Aniston: Budokon
Jennifer Aniston started the challenging combination of yoga, meditation and Japanese martial arts at the recommendation of Courtney Cox. Budokon "explores the physical, emotional and spiritual body through movement, diet and meditation, working toward achieving truly sustainable health, wellness and personal power," explains Jennifer's trainer. "Because Jen's very laid back, it's good for her to get some of that fire energy out."
Others: Madonna, Courtney Cox.
Sienna Miller: Rope yoga
With her tempestuous love life, new clothing line and Broadway stage debut, Sienna Miller needs a good ol' workout to let off steam. Her favourite fitness activity in autumn is rope yoga - the perfect thing to keep her nimble celebrity body in check. "Rope yoga really works on the abdomen, hips and thighs," says Miller.
Others: Madonna, Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow.
Cameron Diaz: Boxing
When it's too cold to surf, Cameron Diaz turns to boxing for her kicks - or punches. The sexy 37-year-old quit the gym yonks ago in favour of intense boxing fitness training.
Others: Hilary Swank, Lindsay Lohan.
Kate Moss: Pole dancing
She might have good genes and airbrushing on her side, but Kate Moss still indulges in the pole dancing she first displayed in a 2007 music video for the White Stripes.
Others: Pamela Anderson, Demi Moore, Teri Hatcher, Kate Hudson.
Charlize Theron: Capoeira
Charlize Theron goes Brazilian to keep her celebrity body in tip-top condition. The Oscar-winner learnt the Afro-Brazilian fighting technique for movie Aeon Flux and hasn't looked back since for her fitness regime.
Others: Salma Hayek, Shakira.
Demi Moore: Extreme sports
Demi Moore is always up for a challenge, no matter what the season. She loves outdoor and extreme fitness to keep her body in check, whether its rollerblading at the beach in Santa Monica in the summer, or hitting the ski slopes in winter. "I like to test myself and have fun when I work out," she says.
Others: Lucy Liu.
Natalie Portman: Scuba diving
"It's something I recently got into and want to do more of," says Star Wars stunner Natalie Portman of her favourite underwater fitness activity. "It's great fun and keeps you fit and I love the fact I can always just fly off somewhere and do it on my own."
Others: Jessica Alba.
Keira Knightley: Kick-boxing
Keira Knightley loves nothing better than a good kick-boxing session to keep up her fitness levels. "Keira's been taught properly and she can certainly pack a punch," says her trainer. And Keira seems to be enjoying her violent workouts. "The endorphin rush is great. It's a good way to keep fit and I can defend myself if I have to."
Others: Geri Halliwell, Jennifer Garner.
