Antioxidants, bad for your health???
29-01-2010 Comments (2)Can eating too many antioxidants actually be damaging to your health?
For years antioxidants have been praised for their healthy, age-defying effects on the body with every healthy diet hailing the wonders of sweet potatoes to lentils, and broccoli to blueberries.
However scientists now say that too much of a good thing can actually be bad for you, throwing the gentle balance of nutrients required by our system out of harmony. Antioxidants which are praised for their anti cancer, anti heart disease and age defying properties when taken to extremes they result in not enough pro oxidants in the system.
As with everything the old adage, anything you do, do in moderation applies and so to with these so called “super foods”.
