Grammy Winners 2012: Adele wins It All
13-02-2012
Adele was definitely the Queen Of The Night, winning six Grammy Awards as the world pauses to remember the great talent Whitney Houston.
The 54th Annual Grammy Awards took place last night in Los Angeles and it was filled with both sorrow and joy. Chaka Khan and Jennifer Hudson paid tribute to the talented Whitney Houston, who was found dead in her hotel room at the very same day. The host, rapper LL Cool J, led the packed Staples Center crowd in a prayer and the Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow acknowledged the late diva in his telecast remarks. Houston was also remembered throughout the show by other artists including Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt.
Speaking of joy and winnings, Londoner Adele "rolled in the gold" and took SIX Grammy Awards for Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for 21, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Short Form Music Video for "Rolling In The Deep," and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Someone Like You."
Kanye West, who was actually the most nominated act of the night, won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “All of the Lights”, and Best Rap Performance with Jay-Z for the hit “Otis”, and Best Rap Album for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. EDM producer Skrillex surprised many by picking up three Grammy wins, including Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronica album, while Taylor Swift surprised few taking home Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song for “Mean.”
There were many outstanding performances like Rihanna, Nicky Minaj, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, Deadmau5 and many more.
