OAK Garden & Grill Review by La Marbellina24-06-2016
The OAK Garden & Grill is a beautiful outdoor restaurant with a rural feel. In the middle there is a big tree and it feels like you are sitting in a cosy garden overlooking a large piece of land. It's like you have this great BBQ at the garden of one of your friends. When you walk besides the bar there is this other part of the restaurant where you can sit on high chairs with wine barrels as tables. From there you have a wonderful view over the Andalusian country side.
In that part of the restaurant you will also find the OAK Grill. The first time I walked by the grill it was filled with lobster, they were still moving. Sad? Maybe. But lobster is one of my favourite dishes and now you know for sure that they are super fresh.
From the special menu with the selection of ‘Best Dishes’ we choose the Carpaccio with Parmesan cheese and white Truffle oil & the Mushrooms filled with Gruyere Herbs and Garlic butter. We share our dishes so we can taste both of them. My husband was sorry because when he tasted the carpaccio he didn't want to share it with me! But he had to, and he was right because the carpaccio really was that good! Luckily he thought the mushrooms were delicious too so it didn't end up in a fight haha.
As main course we selected the Galician Beef for 2 persons. This meat is matured for 28 days and will be grilled on the OAK Grill. I prefer Bearnaise sauce and my love peppersauce and we get both, how nice.
But this juicy steak doesn’t need any sauces! It is so delicious you can taste the high quality of the meat and the smokey flavour from the Oak Grill. Wauw, I have no words to describe this perfect meat dish. You have to try it for yourself because I have a hard time to tell you how GOOD it is!
It is a large dish to share, perfect for meat lovers.
After our wonderful dinner we moved to the bar of the OAK Garden & Grill for a ‘after dinner drink’. We ordered a Gin Tonic and the bartender had some serious cocktail skills! I think it is beautiful to see the bartender have real passion for his work. The way he let the tonic slide down over the steal swizzle stick of 30cm into the glass with the Hendrick's Gin. Isn't that great?
I was so busy taking pictures of the restaurant and enjoying the food and drinks that I didn't notice the violin music that was played was LIVE! A charming lady walks through the ‘garden’ (restaurant) playing the violin, it is beautiful. It is so pure you don't realize it is live until you see here play, how special is that and who doesn't love live music?
We really enjoyed this wonderful evening at the OAK Garden & Grill, it was such a great dinner. Don't I have any feedback? Well not much, but maybe 1 little tip… We love sitting in the shade, but there wasn't almost any shady places. But I guess more people like to have a table in the sun especially you are on holiday and you want to work on your tan off course!
We will definitely come back to this restaurant. The food is great and when I think of going back soon the only thing I can say is: ‘Se me hace agua la boca’.
The ambience is like you are in a large and cosy garden having a BBQ party with friends and a private chef. What a great new restaurant in Marbella, we are big fans.
So, my recommendation? Book your table right now, I know you'll love it!
Congratulations to La Sala on this great addition to the La Sala Group!
