De Medici Marbella Food Review03-08-2015
i-Marbella.com had the pleasure of trying De Medici's menu. De Medici is a famous restaurant that has recently undergone a complete makeover in terms of owners, interior design, and menu.
De Medici Restaurant located in Estepona was re-opened on July 9, 2015. The restaurant was completely refurbished under the supervision of Jonathan Sobell, British entrepreneur.
The restaurant offers a variety of international flavours and a healthy menu from a famous culinary expert Carole Sobell.
De Medici now oozes cosmopolitan style and uniqueness, at the same time, still having the local charm of a Spanish villa.
The restaurant is managed by Jonathan Sobell himself along with Carole Sobell, his mother. A strong tandem, they offer their knowledge and experience in the field of nutrition, cooking, and healthy recipes.
The first starter was Iberian ham and melon, sliced fresh melon covered with layers of Iberian ham and pomegranate glaze. It was fresh, juicy, and served in a lovely way.
The second starter was tuna tartare, fresh diced tuna with guacamole fresh herbs and a yuzu dressing. A truly delicious dish served in a coctail glass.
The third starter was Caprese salad including fresh tomato and buffalo mozzarella with fresh basil.
Last but not least, mixed seafood salad, assorted mixed sea food served with fresh herbs, lemon, and summer leaves -- a fantastic selection of ingredients!
The first main dish was Veal Milanese, or breaded veal escalope served with spaghetti. The size of the serving should certainly be mentioned. The escalope itself was not at all dry, but very well-cooked. Again, a great dish.
The second one, oven-baked fillet of sea bass, or marinated in fresh lemon and herbs. Juicy fish with an exceptional taste, which is quite rare, indeed.
The third main dish was linguine with prawns, spicy prawns with chilli and garlic. What an enjoyment!
The fourth main dish was fillet steak, medium, served with a variety of sauces and side dishes.
Desserts included a variety of cakes, for example, tiramisu, frozen fresh berries with melted white chocolate, and a surprise dessert from the chef. The desserts were superb, again, very fresh and served in a beautiful way (see for yourself!). Berries with white cholocate were especially mouth-watering.
The food was accompanied with red and white Italian wine, water, and coffee.
The service was excellent, and the dinner ran smoothly. The owners were present in the restaurant to make sure that the customers were satisfied with their experience. De Medici Restaurant is for people who appreciate quality above all.
