Marbella Fashion Police: Renee Dunshea
23-02-2013 Comments (3)For this week's Fashion Police section i-Marbella arrested an international commercial model, actress, presenter and creative entrepreneur Renee Dunshea! Read below to find out how she always manages to look amazing!
1. How would you define your style?
I would define my style as elegant very classic feminine by night and bohemian street mixed with high street by day. To define my actual style would be difficult to determine as I am extremely versitile and like to mix even my cheapest vintage pieces with my most expensive high street pieces so I never look like i have come directly off a runway and seek to be individual with my style.
2. How much time do you spend dressing up before going out?
The dressing up part is done within 10 minutes. It is the hair and make up that is the general nightmare. I always allow myself at least 1.5 hours before I head out to be looking my best.
3. How often and where do you usually go shopping?
I am definitely a frequent shopper, but have recently been focusing on quality and not quantity, so I have literally handed down most my wardrobe and opted to fill my closet with classic pieces and quality with only a few exceptions which would generally come from my visits to the local op shop for some vintage/second hand pieces.
4. Where do you get your inspiration and ideas?
I get my inspiration by looking at everybody else on a day to day basis weather its a walk to the supermarket or a cocktail party by night and knowing I do not want to look like the next person walking down the street, I try to dress different to the rest an maintain my own style.
5. My favourite shops/brands are ..
There are too many to mention but I would have to say right at this moment most of my favourite pieces have come from Armani, D&G and Roberto Cavalli.
6. What is your favourite piece in the closet?
Definitely a brown studded leather jacket from Armani. It is a beautiful soft leather and light brown with gold studs around the collar making it one those jackets you could put with anything day or night and it would always get that WOW factor!
7. What are your favourite colours? Why?
I LOVE LOVE LOVE COLOUR! Personally I pick favourite colors based on my hair and skin colour at the time as its very frequently changing. I love soft colors when I am feeling a little under the weather but when I wake up and i am feeling happy and confident you can find me color blocking with reds, yellows and purples but I always feel sexiest in a classic fitted little black dress.
8. What is the most expensive thing in your wardrobe?
The most expensive thing in my wardrobe right now is my Rose Gold Chopard watch. It has a square shaped face surrounded with diamonds and the face color is black making it very elegant and sheek. And easy to match with anything. It is definitely a time piece you always find yourself taking a second look at.
9. Which celebrity style do you like the most?
I like different celebrity styles for different reasons and depending which country I am in. My home country of Australia we tend to go for the more bohemian, trendy hippie style, so I will make this an easy one and say Sienna Miller, Kate Moss and most the crew from the Racheal Zoe club. I also always love the Kardashian girls style as they are always looking very feminine and wear things to show their figures and shape which I try to do as much as possible plus they dress for their age. But when I am in Europe I opt for the more designer classy style to stand out and make a statement and be noticed. I do like Clemence poesy and Lou doillen for their versatility.
10. What advice would you give to have obtain a good style?
Dress for your body shape and for your hair and skin colour. And always dress for the country you are visitingr living in. What we may think is trendy is one country's completely tacky and cheap in another so it is important to always maintain the right style for the right place. Be versatile without trying too hard. I think if you go to your wardrobe before you leave the house and change 3 times, you are already trying to hard. Just keep it tight, right and simple and sexy by staying feminine, elegant and classy! And avoid cheap accessories.
