3 Ways A Silk Pillowcase Might Make You Prettier
12-12-2009 Comments (2)Maybe You´re not really a silk-sheets kind of girl. They tend to be kind of chilly and slippery, but lots of people in the beauty industry just loooove silk pillowcases. Why? Here are some main beauty claims associated with silk pillowcases.
1. They prevent frizz.
Many hairstylists have told me they recommend silk pillowcases to clients as a way to help minimize frizz, as the fibers in a regular cotton 'case have a way of roughing up the hair's cuticle.
2. They eliminate those annoying a.m. face creases.
Some people even believe silk is less likely to encourage actual fine lines, but I haven't seen any real evidence on this.
3. They don't suck up your fancy face cream.
Silk pillowcases are less absorbent than cotton, so your expensive anti-aging night cream is less likely to migrate into your bedding, where it's not likely to have much luck fighting wrinkles. The makers of some beauty-centric silk pillowcases even claim that the amino acids in silk proteins leave skin more hydrated.
What type of pillow and pillowcase are you currently using? Would you consider switching to silk based on these beauty claims?
