Marbella Taxis will finally have Taximeters!
28-01-2012Comments (2)
Taximeters in Marbella will finally be operative before Easter this year, according to PP's spokesman Félix Romero.
The local representant appointed that the final approvement has to be given by the Junta de Andalucia, whom will have to approve the final rates.
The Junta de Gobierno has approved over 400 taxi driver petitions to have the installation of such devices subusidised. The cost is of 100e per taxi license & taximeter installed. The Ayuntamiento has estimated an amount of 31.600 euros to be spent on installing such devices.
Looks like the end of the old-fashioned rate books, which most of them make no sense at all is over!

When I first came to the coast, all taxis had them. I never understood where they went!
